This involves keeping part of the previous fermentation and adding it to the following mash to give more flavor to the whiskey. After disappearing from the market in 1989, Michter’s Original Sour Mash Whiskey made a triumphant return in 2012 with its introduction into the US 1 line. Remaining faithful to the profile of its predecessor, Michter’s US 1 Sour Mash quickly became a must-have whiskey . It delivers an abundance of notes of cinnamon, dried fruit, caramel and hazelnut, with a spicy tone on the finish. It’s simply delicious.
